E-WASTE RECYCLING

Electronic recycling logo, a green recycling symbol with power chords in the arrows and a computer in the middle

E-waste is an informal name used for a variety of electronic products that have met the end of their “useful life”.  Did you know the following items can be recycled at designated E-waste recycling facilities?

  • Computers
  • Microwaves
  • Monitors
  • Laptops
  • Cell Phones
  • VCRs
  • Stereos
  • Copiers
  • Fax machines

Electronic discard is one of the fastest growing segments of our nation’s trash.  Recycling raw materials from end-of-life electronics is the most effective solution to the growing e-waste problem. Most electronic devices contain a variety of materials, including metals that can be recovered for future uses. By dismantling and providing reuse possibilities, intact natural resources are conserved and air and water pollution that is caused by hazardous disposal is avoided. Additionally, recycling reduces the amount of greenhouse gas emissions caused by the manufacturing of new products.
